During the past fifty years Yoshiharu has made more than 40 flower-and-bird prints plus an additional 120 bird prints. None of the objects in his prints are easily identified because he distorts their shapes and uses colors which are not true-to-life. The combination of false color, novel shapes and complex picture composition make each of his woodblock prints both visually stimulating and highly entertaining. Five examples of each of his favorite four bird subjects (owls, cranes, doves and peafowl) are included in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. To see more prints by Yoshiharu click here.
